Grades, Finals and Protests (Snowflakes Wanted No Failures for Semester)

The "Black Lives Matter" protest movement continues to reverberate on campuses. At Oberlin College this week, the president rejected a petition signed by more than 1,000 students demanding no failing grades this semester. Student activism over decisions by grand juries not to indict police officers for the deaths of unarmed back men in Missouri and New York remains strong. And unlike most student protest movements, this one has extended into finals -- and has some students asking for flexibility on grades or exams, and others taking the unusual step of protesting in libraries during a period when student stress about academics is high.

So the Special Snowflakes at Oberlin wanted a no failure policy for the semester due to all the "stress" caused by Ferguson/Garner. For some odd reason the President of Oberlin said, "NO". Has someone put testosterone into the Oberlin water supply? Because we have the Prez saying No and the visiting math professor said literally just "No" to a snowflake who asked for a statistics final be cancelled/postponed.

So much of this is bull. I have been on several campuses with my son and have yet to see any idiots protesting. Just kids studying and trying to do well.
