German WWII belt buckle weapon--.22RF oddity
Sasisa.ru ^ | 13 December 2014 | A. Russian?

Spotted this while chasing another link. Seems I've seen one of these before, but not as a cased piece. Many detailed pictures, worth a peek but texts are in Russian. Interesting...

that is very cool. I have taste that doesn’t match my budget. Man I would love to be able to collect this sort of stuff. I always wanted one of those old .45 cal Liberators too

So THAT'S where Mattel got the belt buckle pistol.

German craftsmanship is top notch. You can see it in that weird contraption. What is for shooting some standing next to you?

I would guess it was in case of capture. They’ll disarm you but they would surely leave your belt buckle, so this gives you 4 shots to try and escape.

Pretty interesting design.

Likely only made for high ranking SS.

It would be a prize, for sure! SS marked 1944 to boot. I’ve only seen one of those Liberators, but I think some company’s making reproductions.

Mattel made outstanding toy guns.

They also made other good toys. The game "Lie Detector" was amazing.

I had one of those from Mattel when I was little.

If I recall the buckle either broke or got tossed aside but I played with the little derringer for a long time. My back-up piece.
