Neither would I. My parents have started to take our kids (two at a time) on one big, special trip. In a few years it will be our older girls’ turn. As our daughters are ballet dancers, one of the ideas is New York for a ballet performance. I’ve said absolutely not, but I’m know to be overprotective so mom and dad just laugh and brush me off. I really do not want any of my children there. Ever.

The old slogan was, “I love NY”. I used to sing, “I loathe NY” when I had to travel from Queens to Port Authority in the late ‘70s. My daughter now lives in Brooklyn and works in Manhattan. I’ve been going there a few times a year for the past 10 or so. I have been pleasantly surprised by how nice some areas are. Even away from the touristy sections. I am afraid that it is now rapidly losing some of the shine Mayor Ruddy Giuliani brought back to the Big Apple. The wacko lib, de Blasio is ruining it quickly. It will return to its ‘70’s style in the next 10 years if he isn’t ousted. I’m going there tomorrow, in fact.
