You can write the almost the same story about parents in the U.S. only it is hockey and baseball. As a youth hockey and baseball coach I find it insane what these parents are spending on sports. AAU baseball and AAA hockey will take their money and suggest all sorts of 1 on 1 training and clinics. Yes there are elite players on the team and they total about 2 or 3 per team. The rest are good players or maybe all-stars on their town team but will never play in college never-mind pro. All that time and money wasted on a dream that never was.

I coach ice hockey. Hear it every season about a kid going pro. Then I ask the question and that ends it.
Your kid is a U16 playing B level hockey in South Texas. If he is so good, how come he isn’t playing Tier 1 in Michigan?
