ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Johnny Manziel era has begun in earnest -- and there might be no turning back. Manziel finally got his chance to play significant NFL snaps when the Cleveland Browns benched Brian Hoyer early in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 26-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Old news. The most recent game was two days ago vs. the Colts. Hoyer played the whole game.

With the Browns (7-6) potentially going away from incumbent starter Brian Hoyer, WLW-AM in Cincinnati on Monday asked Lewis how his first-place Bengals (8-4-1) would handle the possibility of facing Johnny Football.

"You gotta go defend the offense. You don't defend the player," Lewis said before adding, "Particularly a midget."

I like him and I wish him well - as long as he’s not playing against the Cowboys.

I see where Bengals coach Marvin Lewis went on the radio and called him a “midget”, generating outraged protests from the little people.

Starting Manziel at this point means the Browns have thrown in the towel for the season.

It was announced today he’s starting against the Bengals.

Either Marvin Lewis is a pre-game genius, or he’s throwing in the towel on the season after the game.

It doesn’t matter who the QB is because the Browns’ coach is incompetent.

Manziel is/will be the latest in the seemingly endless line of great college players who flop in the pros.

But it's not like Hoyer is anything special & he has been getting worse instead of better.

Hoyer can't seem to hit a wide open receiver lately, unless he's on the other team.
The Bengals coach calling him a midget was stupid - the jock sniffers said that about Russell Wilson, too.

My guess — he’s trying to get into Manziel’s head

IMO Manziel IS too small to play in the NFL. Drafting him was a huge gamble.

I wonder what Chip Kelly could do with Manziel?

Hell, he took Sanchez, so he’d probably give Manziel a shot.

"Old news. The most recent game was two days ago vs. the Colts. Hoyer played the whole game."

And Hoyer was just awful. If the Browns had even an average QB that game they would have won by 3 TDs. Even though I'm a Colts fan I did feel sorry for the Browns because their defense just kicked the Colts butts all day long and they were winning all day long until the last 35 seconds when the Colts took a 1 point lead which won the game. I'll take the win but I do feel for Browns fans. Start Johnny Football, he can't do any worse than Hoyer did last Sunday.

He's an inch taller than Russell Wilson, Superbowl champ.

He would be a good backup QB in Seattle.

Maybe the Browns can get some draft picks for him.

Is this the same Coach Lewis who caught a football on the nose and broke his finger?
