A recent article in The Daily Mail asserted that social networks are creating a generation of parents who are afraid their children will complain about them online or even secretly record a parental lecture or rant and then post it.

How can your kid record your rant if you take his phone away?

Why would the kid have a phone in the first place?

At school for emergencies, but otherwise I think not.

And besides who fears being shamed in public more, me or the kid?

I could care less what people think of me.
My kid however would utterly die if had an attack of the embarrassing dad syndrome in public.

I like how you think.

I have read Sun Tzu, my kid hasn’t.

I know it’s not fair, but oh well.

My kids shame me? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! All I have to do is tell them I’ll be the “cool dad”, and promise to hang out with them.

My captain’s son wouldn’t stop sagging his pants, so he also started sagging, too. After suffering the embarrassment of Dad’s plumber’s crack, the kid pulled his pants up.

Kids would lose internet for a long time.

Of course if they were mine they’d have had corporal punishment early so the mere threat of it would mostly be enough as they got older. Worked on us.

How about like what Uncle Buck threatened? Wear your bathrobe and slippers and escort your child to their first class.

Cease payments on their cell phone service, Internet connection and remove all gaming devices.

Problem solved.
