So, when was that a Google innovation? The tech was already out there, and it’s now being used by other makers, including Apple and it’s even in the WP platform.

But, Apple Pay and Google wallet will be superseded by a better option, where people don’t have to use their smartphones to scan for payment, and where the retailers save the 2-4% credit card payment fee.

Wallet and Apple Pay are not innovations by the respective companies. It’s been out there before, but Google and Apple are just re-branding and tweaking to differentiate. Differentiation is not really innovation.

Fact is that, even Apple didn’t invent or create innovation with their tablets.

Fact is that, Microsoft had tablets before Google or Apple. They weren’t successful in the marketing, but still, the innovation in Google and Apple is not really to be found in the tablets segments.

When it comes to the “one-trick” pony labels, it’s Google and Apple that qualify for that label. They’re the least diversified of the big three tech and software companies around. Microsoft has both of them beat, combined, by miles.

Apple is bigger in revenue and profit and in market cap, but, that’s not an indication of diversification, nor of staying power nor of R&D, nor of innovation.

That Hollywood hack that you mention? That was done on the iCloud, which, apparently, you’re not aware is an Apple service.

BTW, the Apple cloud is hosted by Amazon and Microsoft. So, where it the Apple innovation there? The Google cloud is having its lunch eaten by Microsoft, and so are Google’s internet cloud services.

When it comes to security on the cloud, well, it’s being dealt with and will get better.

So, what about the security of the offline applications and OSes? Ever hear of viruses on the offline hardware and applications. The cloud is the newcomer, and it’s dealing with the same problems which plagued the offline devices and applications.

It’s the “same-old, same-old”, but, just under a different methodology.

Amazon is more diversified than either Google or Apple, but, it’s got a lot more problems than Google or Apple. Amazon is not producing revenue or profits. It’s losing money, and thought it’s got the biggest cloud, and the biggest online shopping site, it’s going to have to be productive or begone.

Microsoft might have to purchase Amazon, and it’s the only company that can do it. Apple’s billions won’t be enough to buy Amazon; expertise is also necessary, and the only company besides Amazon with the expertise, is Microsoft. Google doesn’t have the money to outbid Microsoft for Amazon.

How about, not being able to run the millions of PC applications that have been written for Windows? And, no, a roundabout method with a virtual machine, isn't the same as running windows straight from a PC.

Have you ever used VMWare Fusion?

Unity mode is great. I can run Windows programs without even having to know they are Windows programs. They look and act like Mac programs. Or I can run full screen Windows and not know I am on a Mac. Or I can run Windows in a window. My choice. Oh, and I can bounce back and forth between those modes. I have never had a hardware compatibility issue using any Windows or Mac compatible hardware. I have the best of both worlds.

There is one HUGE thing that Windows PCs can’t do...run Mac programs in any way, shape or form.

Who would want to? With millions of Windows applications, there isn't anything that Macs have that isn't already available for Windows. Besides, do Macs have millions of applications available?

The only thing that matters in a Microchip is the number of transistors.

The more transistors you have the more the fluid it becomes. Everything else like RAM, GHZ is secondary.

If you don't believe me, then look up Quantum Chips. The transistor count is 1 Quadrillion Transistors (1000 Trillions in other words) in first generation chips. They come out in 2023. Right now Apple has the highest on the iPad Air 2 (3 Billion).

Look who has the highest transistor count.

The XBOX is probably their Microsoft’s top new product, bigger than Windows 8, but the XBOX 1 is their latest product. Not the XBOX 360. That was the previous game station.

I forgot the XBOX 1 does have 5 Billion Transistors. That’s incredible.

Although Sony Playstation 4 is out selling XBOX 1.

Google is a search engine, with advertising as a spinoff from it.

That is all that Google is.

It’s a one-trick pony.

Furthermore, before Google, there were other search engines, like Excite and Hotbot and Lycos. Thus, there is nothing really innovative about Google’s search engine. That they became the biggest, is not a sign of innovation. And, heck, Bing IS a superior search engine, even though it’s not as big in usage. Bing returns better search results, which is not the same as more search results. Bing is the engine behind Cortana and Apple’s Siri, both of which return better answers to questions posed by their respective users.

Remember that, Microsoft is also he biggest software company in the world, but, they weren’t the first, and they didn’t invent applications or OSes, but yet, they are the biggest. Same with Google: being the biggest does not mean that they are the best, or the innovators of the “technology”.

When it comes to Microsoft (Microsucks to you), I’m not a “supporter”. I’m just practical with my opinions.

I use what works best in any particular sector of technology. Microsoft is the best at what they do with Windows, no matter what version or latest iteration. OSX is good, but only for limited usage, iow, for Apple ‘PCs’. Linux is forever trying to keep up with Windows, and even trying to copy what Windows does. It’s kinda miraculous that any one piece of software can work with thousands of different configurations that can be found in the PC sector; Apple doesn’t do that.

When it comes to the many other things that MS is involved in, they are not as good in all of them, but, for the majority of them, they are much better than what Apple or Google produce; for example: any office application, online or offline. Android and iOS users keep hoping that MS will develop their applications to also work with Android and/or iOS. That’s a mark of perceived and real superiority.
