The aunt of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un died from a stroke during an impassioned argument about her husband's execution, a defector from the secretive nation has revealed.

Kim Kyung Hui, 68, was the sister of Kim's late father Kim Jong II and perhaps the most prominent figure in the oppressive regime.

She was a close aide to her own brother Kim Jong-il for decades, assuming senior positions in the party and becoming a four-star general in 2010

But her husband, Jang Song Thaek, was executed in December, reportedly by a firing squad

According to Kang Myung-do, a defector who was son-in-law to North Korea's ex-Prime Minister, Kang Sun San, Ms Kim was on the phone to her nephew arguing about the execution when she had the stroke. She was hospitalised and died later.

The death was not announced as the government did not want people to link her death to her husband's, who had been labelled 'despicable human scum, worse than a dog'.

This theory #2.

Theory #1, advanced by another defector, is that she killed herself after her husband's execution, leaving behind a suicide note cursing Kim Jong-un.

Both agrees that she is dead, while details differ. Time for Kim Jong-un to have a photo-op: visit her aunt at a hospital and hold her hand. If she is really dead, then he is better off by completely ignoring these media reports.

Was it an ischemic stroke where the bullet blocks the flow of blood to the brain or a hemorrhage stroke where the bullet breaks a major artery which bleeds out into the brain?

Sony Pictures Entertainment is exploring the possibility that hackers working on behalf of North Korea, perhaps operating out of China, may be behind a devastating attack that brought the studio’s network to a screeching halt earlier this week, sources familiar with the matter tell Re/code.

The timing of the attack coincides with the imminent release of “The Interview,” a Sony film that depicts a CIA plot to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un. The nation’s ever-belligerent state propaganda outlets have threatened “merciless retaliation” against the U.S. and other nations if the film is released.

The film is a comedy and features actors Seth Rogen and James Franco as celebrity journalists who score a rare interview with the North Korean leader, played by the actor Randall Park. In the film, the journalists are enlisted by the CIA to assassinate Kim.
