This reminded me of the soldier, decorated for single handedly holding off an attack on his unit in Vietnam, who later on claimed that he was hugely stoned just before and during the attack. The effects of THC are nothing like alcohol and it’s possible to imagine a kind of detachment from what was going on and a feeling that that he was just observing what his body was responding to on its own. That could also maybe describe what was going through the brain of Michael Brown up to the moment a bullet passed through instead.
Nothing to see here, we have been assured by internet experts that marijuana is completely harmless, not associated with crime and is in fact a natural medicine without harmful side effects.

As a side note, it is pretty well known that while many whites use weed, its use is much higher in the black communities. Is use of weed at an early age by blacks one of the causes of high crime and low educational performance? That would be an interesting area of study.
But then you'd have to find populations of blacks who have very low usages of weed and other drugs to make a comparison.
My observations of people smoking pot are that they are more likely to spend an hour talking about the amazing colors in your shirt than to riot.
Can you find me a link to an article that posits cigarette smoking is harmful but that smoking pot is healthy?

Antecdotally, both trayvon martin and michael brown were regular users. They both committed violent crimes with THC in their systems.
