UN Torture Watchdog Slams US for Police Brutality
Voice of America ^ | 11-28-2014

The United Nations Committee Against Torture urged the United States to investigate police abuse, as protests continue over a grand jury decision not to charge a white police officer who shot and killed an unarmed black teenager in the U.S. state of Missouri.

In a report released Friday, the U.N. committee said it is concerned about "numerous reports" of police brutality and excessive use of force, in particular against minority racial and ethnic groups.

It described police shootings or fatal pursuits of unarmed black individuals as "frequent" and "recurrent."

Jens Modvig, one of the panel's 10 independent experts, said U.S. officials have not provided data on such complaints and how they have been investigated and prosecuted.

"We have reports of widespread extensive use of force by the police, and this gives rise to concern, of course, and also that some vulnerable groups, including ethnic groups, blacks, have been particularly targeted by this force," Modvig said. "And for this reason, the committee feels that there's a need for investigation and prosecution of all cases of police brutality and excessive use of force."

I say we find our most aggressive cops and send them down to the UN to adjust a few attitudes.

They should spend a month on patrol in an inner city and see if they still have the same opinion.

This letter was probably written by Eric the Red and funneled through the UN as cover. Don’t doubt it.

United Nazis ... same outfit that collects and gives zillions of dolllars (including from USA!) to the IslamoNazi terrorists in the middle east... to fund their weapons buildups, terrorist training camps, bombs, missiles, and tunnels to kill more innocent Joooos (and Christians) over there.

SOrry, UN, but you have less than ZERO credibiity on issues of terrorism and mass murder.

Go F yourselves!

Has the UN torture watchdog spoken out against Islamic State and the nations that are buying oil from them?

As if they don’t know what’s going on elsewhere around the world. Start criticizing one of your beloved Muslim countries first UN, and get back to us.

Well

Arresting and prosecuting and incarcerating criminals is such hard, dirty work.

We should just do what other UN Member States do: declare them homosexuals and hang them. Problem solved.

Sort of like the UN troops stationed in Africa that robbed, raped and brutalized the blacks there.

It described police shootings or fatal pursuits of unarmed black individuals as "frequent" and "recurrent."

They have a point.

US cops killed about a thousand civilians last year. German cops killed 8 Germans.

Which means US LEOs kill Americans at a rate 40x that of the rate at which German cops kill Germans.

Which seems a little excessive. I think we can recognize that the Brown shooting may have been justified without thereby assuming that all cop shootings are justified.

To: Citizen Zed; All

As mentioned in related threads concerning police brutality, please consider the following.

The states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect citizens from police brutality. So the federal government has no express constitutional protections to apply to the states via the 14th Amendment to protect citizens from police brutality, such brutality alleged in the Ferguson issue.

The corrupt feds and corrupt media are arguing police brutality concerning Ferguson to help federal Democrats win support from low-information voters imo, voters who have never been taught about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers.
