Thoughtful post. This situation called for Charity. Instead, it sounds like the parents called for confrontation. A mixed up kid needs to be redirected in a positive way. This behavior would have gone to extinction most likely. Now he’s in a battle of wills.
Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane showed us the way. Not my will be done...

There’s a big difference between a disciple and a believer’s child.
I don’t believe in shunning kids who don’t believe the same as their parents. There are a lot more sins, and I’m guilty of a few myself.

IDK,but I wasn’t girl crazy when I was 12, I didn’t find the concept of the behavior appealing either when I found out about it in the same year. The same gender behavior grossed me out more than well the traditional way.

I agree you can’t shun your child.

Being "squishy" on discipline is just as destructive as being wrong on doctrine; in some ways, more destructive. Exactly correct and I think I am going to borrow this for a while as my new tagline.

Dont be so smug. The Methodist Church officially is against same sex unions yet have been invaded by liberals and your precious Catholic Church is in the same boat.............Here is the big difference: The Holy Spirit guides the Catholic Church in all truth, liberals guide all the protestant churches, or will within the next 50 years.

As I said, don’t be so smug and arrogant. Your Roman Catholic Church is as off base as the rest of us..........

Here’s my input. Whichever one sticks to the right way, is the true church of Christ. It all depends on who is willing to take the mockery, the defectors, etc. The structure of the other smaller churched makes them likely to cave sooner,

Take a look at Revelations chapter Chapter 2 and 3 to see what Jesus thinks about your Holy Roman Catholic Church. The news is not good and I really doubt you will even go look.
But if you do read it you will think the message is for some one else, not you. Let me clue you in. THERE AINT NO ONE ELSE, THAT IS YOU AND ME.
Things are so BAD in the church (YOUR CHURCH AND MINE) that Jesus is threatening to leave UNLESS...............

You would laugh at God’s word? Don’t listen to me, read HIS words.

I realize you were writing to yourself, but I had to remind you that Jesus started the Catholic Church and promised us He would never abandon her. Although why you don't think that you will read the Book of Revelation after you recommend it to yourself is beyond me. And it the Book of Revelation, not Revelations. Most people that are unfamiliar with it make that mistake. BTW I recommend the Navarre commentary with the Book of Revelation. I have studied both extensively and can help you with the difficult passages.
Spoiler alert God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Catholic Church win in the end.

Or, their son could have died an agonizing death from AIDS or from a hammer to his skull by a sodomite “lover.”
What abject idiots.

And they should be expelled from their evangelical church as non-believers.
The welcoming-at-all-costs trend is deadly.

Many boys at 12 think girls have cooties. That doesn’t make them gay, right?!!!!

That would be a good place to start.
To: miss marmelstein
That’s a good thing. It makes it unlikely that the guy has a porn problem, or some kind of sex problem. The young have far from the easiest time covering it up.
To: fwdude
Definitely not well thought out. Living single is really underrated.
