I already know that the old hamburger Happy Meal from McD’s with a diet drink, is 350 calories. Which you can cut by 75 calories using only half the bun.

Subway has been printing that info on their subs since Jarred used them to lose weight.

I’d much rather they tell me what country it is from and if there is Paint Thinner in the breakfast cereal I buy for my grandson. Instead of hiding it by it’s chemical name! Or if the dairy I buy has growth hormones in it. He certainly does NOT need it.

I already know how to ration portions, snacks, etc. As I am forced to read all those labels for health reasons.

Why is Paint Thinner in children’s cereal?

Ditto goes for the dog food I buy having antifreeze in it.

If they wanted to regulate a food, they need to regulate those nasty ENSURE style drinks they force feed seniors. And Hospital patients. NASTY tasting CRAP! To high in sugars (carbs) to high in Sodium. What are all those strange words?

Click on ingredients list, can some one decode it? I know the sugars, vits/mins and Oils. Rest is Greek. I’m supposed to drink 2 of these NASTY high sugar, high sodium drinks per day. NO WAY IN HADES! Sodium exceeds my allowable intake, the to sweet makes me puke. And I can taste the chems. I’m not allowed SOY either. But notice it is in the product.

Don’t know about those sources of yours, but trisodium phosphate is a solid and cannot be used as a paint thinner—only solvents can act in that role. Being a salt of sodium, though, its more common uses are in saponification (making soaps/detergents by reacting with greases/oils), as a cleaning agent (especially degreaser) and de-glossing of oil-based paints in order to make new coats of paint adhere better. Its food use is (reportedly) as an antioxidant.

Propylene glycol has very low toxicity compared to ethylene glycol, the most common automotive antifreeze; as far as its use as a RV/marine antifreeze, the low toxicity and low potential for environmental damage is the big safety point most touted.

Incidentally, ethanol (booze) is also used as a paint solvent and thinner, and of course as automotive fuel. Does that mean we ought to go Sharia on booze because of that fact?

So they post calories. What does it mean? I hardly ever hit the daily 20,000 calorie allowance anyway.

Your anti-freeze comment. Read this complete rebuttal of pretty much everything you've been told about propylene glycol.

"Hiding" it by using its chemical name? Seriously?

TSP is also quite benign. Its demonization by the enviro-nut movement has nothing to do with any health effects on humans, it's because the phosphate in it is a fertilizer, and excessive use can cause algae blooms where it is discharged into the water.

The links you provided show me a bunch of knee-jerk alarmism. Lots of emotion and shouting, but little in the way of rational factual information.

That’s a 6X6 “Animal Style” from In-N-Out. They don’t make that anymore, but you can get a 4X4 still.

The staff are always enthusiastic, the burgers always excellent. I LOVE In-N-Out.

FDA should be called FBS. Far Behind Science.

Calories, ha. What an old fashioned, stupid way to attempt health.

It would be far better to list which items contained or were cooked in rancid seed oils. That is the key to avoiding inflammation.

Why don’t you get yourself a blender, put coconut oil, fruit, and protein powder in and make your own? Can add flax seed or chia and anything, really.

it’s a beautiful sight to behold. 4x4 would be just fine.

I think I’ll go fry up a few burgers today.

It means the FDA is going to drive food costs up due to having to post them, the restaurant owners passing those costs onto the consumer.

Smart people DO want to know how many calories they are getting for their dollar.

“The idea is that people may pass on that bacon double cheeseburger at a chain restaurant, hot dog at a gas station or large popcorn at the movie theater if they know that it has hundreds of calories.”
Only those with weight problems- and idiots.

The Republicans truly are the idiots here. Obama serves up all these regulations, and the Stupid Party let’s it happen, essentially without comment.

“Only those with weight problems- and idiots.”

Therein lies the opportunity.

All that need be said this Sunday on all the talk shows, in the papers, on Fox News, etc is what you just pointed out:

“His highness, Obama I, thinks you are too stupid to realize that a bacon double has a lot of calories in it, and salt too. If Democrats in Congress sit still and let this happen before we can do something about it in two years, then it means they too think you are stupid.

In fact, they think you are so stupid that somebody has to tell you a bacon double has a lot of calories, that they think you’ll be OK with both the government and the restaurants taking even more money out of your pocket in order to force the restaurant to tell you what you already know.

They think they can continue to get away with this I guess. It’s just a power trip. It’s worked on blacks since LBJ. There’s been a holocaust of black people aborted over the last 50 years, and the Democrats have convinced them it was for their own good.

It shows they’ve learned nothing from the midterms this November. They are convinced we are idiots - all of us. This is why they would take money from you to tell you that a bacon double has a lot of calories in it. I wonder how the VA is doing with their backlog situation this week, since His Highness has decided that we are going to war again in Afghanistan?”
