And those famous Rambler seats! Anybody who was a teenager or young adult during the Rambler’s era will never forget them, especially if they had a chance to fully utilize them. And not by going car-camping with their parents

When I was a teenager (graduated HS in 1972, I drove a 1963 2 door rambler classic with split bench seats. Great at the drive-in...

I had both a ‘66 and a ‘68 Barracuda. At one time Plymouth sold a mattress for the back.

My parents had a 59 Nash Ambassador and I remember the seat backs folding down flat.

Indeed... Senior year of High School, I had a Rambler station wagon... Unfortunately it was much more often used for camping than for dates....

Probably the fact that I drove a Rambler station wagon in the days when my schoolmates drove Shelby Mustangs and Z28 Camaros had something to do with the aforementioned lack of dates.

...............................

More recently (12 years ago), I took out the passenger seat and built a bed platform in my Suzuki Samurai for sleeping on 4WD adventures.

1976 mad 1976 Matador.... front seats folded down to make a full bed.. I slept better in that car than my own bed. Don't get me started on date nights...My car had a modified bench seat because it was an column automatic. I loved this car.
