Obama has claimed that the reasons he has taken this step of an executive order is because Congress had supposedly done nothing, and the steps he has taken will improve the immigration system. Let us, for the moment, assume his premise is entirely true. Here’s the problem: Executive orders have NOTHING to do with Congress. They are entirely within the purview of the Executive Branch (assuming they are legal, which, for the moment, I will grant the president). And since they are an entirely presidential matter, why has he not done anything with that power until now?
The president has blamed others for his exercise of a power which only he can exercise.

And another question is this. If this was such a great idea only upheld by the wicked Republicans, why didn’t the Democrat controlled House and Senate and Obama do this type of action in his first two years?
He took an oath to uphold the law. His executive privilege does not give him the right to suspend laws.
There are no more elections in his way.
If he was going to do something, he should have done it after the 2012 election. This is all about giving the finger to red state America.
The liberals have got all kinds of excuses. They just can’t explain why he was able to force Obamacare down our throats with the same number of votes.
For that matter, he had more votes for Amnesty than Obamacare. Team McCain was all for amnesty.
After King Barry got away with releasing 5 Taliban Commanders and suffering NO consequences from doing so, he believes he can do anything he wishes now..
He did not want to answer to we the people. He waited until the political costs would be the most minimal.
Obama has held amnesty out as a bait to secure the Hispanic vote. With the Republican congressional gains and the likelihood that they would pass something on immigration reform and securing the borders, amnesty’s shelf life had run out. That and the fact that amnesty is not uniformly popular with Hispanic voters and is not well received by other groups.

Obama DID DO OBAMANISTY 6 Years ago. Six years ago his “policy” was to essentially NOT DEPORT other than a modest number of aliens. Now, his “executive action” is exactly the same thing .. .. .. to NOT DEPORT other than a modest number of aliens. SAME OLD, SAME OLD.
LET’S NOT PLAY OBAMA’S GAME. Let’s pass a simple continuing resolution for 3 months only in this December lame duck session. Then, when the new Republican Congress takes office in January, get busy with BORDER ENFORCEMENT / TIGHTENING ONLY legislation. LET’S PLAY OUR GAME!

Do you have proof?
States should not accept his statements or any EO that he may issue to provide State benefits to illegals. If courts are always saying States do not have standing, put the onus on the DOJ to have to move it through the court system.
The Constitution gives States standing, and the Supreme Court original jurisdiction.
