While Fager didn’t succeed in lifting the “CBS Evening News” and “CBS This Morning” out of third place in the ratings, he set each program in a clear thematic direction with a harder, more traditional news broadcast than its rivals. With three large free/over-air news groups, logic dictates someone’s going to have to come in third. Inevitable.

I wonder why any of the MSM even call their programs news ... might as well call them the Evening Entertainment Tonight Program as they offer so little of what could be called news and more of what could be called pap.
No, no. He shouldn't be stepping down. If there were justice, the fifth-column CBS news chairman should have been indicted, tried, convicted, sentenced, and fallen through the trap door on the gallows... and the same goes for fifth-columnist Scott Pelley, for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
