Elizabeth Warren insists she has no interest in running for president in 2016, but the rich liberals to whom she spoke Thursday afternoon seemed unwilling to take ‘no’ for an answer. The Massachusetts senator got a rock stars’ welcome during a closed-door speech to major donors, one of whom interrupted her by yelling “Run, Liz, Run!”

Warren drew multiple standing ovations during her talk, held in a banquet room at Washington’s Mandarin Oriental hotel during the annual winter meeting of the Democracy Alliance, a club of major liberal donors.

I once listened to a long speech she gave about the vulnerability of the middle class family in the nineties and early 21st century, as compared to the sixties. It was intelligent, sensitive, and moral. She made the point, with numbers and evidence, that middle class families were significantly worse off, in large part because they now depend on two incomes. In times past, when hard times came, the stay at home wife could always take a job to make ends meet until the major breadwinner could get on his feet. With just that talk, I might have thought she was a conservative! This speech was quite a few years back.

Since then, I found out that she got her Harvard job by lying about her ethnicity, and there was some dubious stuff about real estate in Oklahoma.

But, her analysis about the endangered and fragile middle class family is still worth listening to.

POLITICO caught up with her as she made her way to a car waiting outside. But she ignored a question about whether her appearance....conflicted with her public denunciations of the role of conservative big money in politics.

The reallyrads are thumping hard for Fauxahonts to be the Social Democrat candidate in 2016. Might as well. She will provide many occasions for humor and whoever the SocDems put up will beat whichever mcdole the Republicans put up- Bush or Romney. And unless some new meteor appears on the Conservative horizon that rides in like Obama for the Republicans, there is no one at all in the Republican Party, even should both Bush and Romney have strokes and be unabailable. I had some hopes for Ted Cruz but he showed his WashingtonParty stripes by voting for McConnell as Majority Leader. Yhat vote for party leaders was the last opportunity for an actual change to be made by the republicans. Instesad they re-elected their Democrat keepers to be their leaders.
