?????????Six Months? Maybe a Combat MOS has a 2 year enlistment, but non-combat is 4 at least....and a combat MOS is One-station basic training that's 15(?) weeks.
There is so much wrong in this report, we can only speculate on what is accurate.
My guess is the LAPD got its info from a family member and had no reason to think it was inaccurate.
The “six months” could be six weeks of basic and then off to Fort Drum for more training in some MOS.
Or he could have spent six months in the brig.
As far as 2 year enlistment, that is the shortest time span you can enlist for...from usmilitary.about.com
“For example, let’s say you enlist in the Army on a two-year active duty contract. At the end of the two years, you separate from active duty. For the next six years, you are subject to recall to active duty at any time, if the Army feels they need you to help supplement active duty or reserve deployments. “
So, who really knows?
The end result is the same, he is dead and some “tagger” is in custody.
Either way, it is sad to see “tagging” being so violent. What a ridiculous lifestyle.
