Diamond District gunman stole $2M in gems and watches
A gunman stormed into a jewelry shop in the heart of the Diamond District on Tuesday and pistol-whipped the owner’s dad before making off with $2 million in gems and watches, police and witnesses said. The thug and his accomplice — who acted as a lookout outside the wholesale Watch Standard Jeweler at 23 West 47th St., between Fifth and Sixth avenues — fed into the busy streets amid the nearby Veterans Day Parade, sparking a blocks-wide manhunt. “It was $2 million in jewelry, mostly watches,” said store owner Danny Mikhaylov. “They came in and said, ‘Give me all your stuff!’ ” Wearing a trench coat, the armed robber posed as a delivery man, prompting Mikhaylov’s 37-year-old friend to buzz the crook into the eighth-floor business at about 2:45 p.m.

Irrelevant, because the crime never happened. This is NYC, one of the most anti-gun cities in the USA. They have very strict gun control laws - waiting periods, etc., so the robber could not have been armed.

Wow! FINALLY someone not only shows a pic but describes them as black. I guess now will come the screams of racism. That’s amazing because usually the Daily news is much more leftist than the NY Post. It goes to show though how uptight the media is when it comes to blacks. Without question they knew their race yesterday because they were describing their height, what clothes they were wearing, but nooooo they can’t mention the black race because that is RACIST! They do this all this time which drives me crazy.

Here are some hints for NYC's Barney Fifes. Hit the NYC public libraries and see who has checked out Ebonics tapes and CDs. Check the crime reports for the last week or so and note when and where Avon Ladies were mugged and their sample demo kits stolen. Costume shops (only in New York would that perp be called a 'snappy dresser') must be thoroughly canvassed. The goatee? Obviously a fake, it's the Mingus, available everywhere. And Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson must go to the nearest Lutheran Church. (Sorry to drag religion into this) But this is where the Viking Gangs use the church halls and basements to practice, get costumed, and most important get stoked on Lutefisk and Akvavit before every raid.

Some dealers and couriers are most certainly legally armed and I was thinking the same thing that the crime never happened but simply went along the lines that it was all a set up-insurance fraud.
FNC just reported that both men were Black and even showed a picture.

My intuition tells me if they are caught, they were. If they get away with it, they weren’t. My police friends tell me the reason they get caught is that 1. most criminals are dumb, they do not catch the smart ones, and 2. most criminals cannot resist telling everyone they know about what they did, or throwing the loot around especially at strip bars. When they do, there is usually a police tout listening within earshot.
Actually I was being sarcastic about the effectivness of gun control in preventing crime. It simply disarms the victims.
