I hope the hospital doesn’t have to pay anything. This business has probably cost them millions already in lost business and extra expenses.
Don’t tell me the hospital paid them off! They are here, living off of US taxpayers already~!
The hospital owes them a one way plane ticket back to west Africa.
They owe the hospital several tens of millions of dollars.
So they did everything they could to save the life of an illegal and now they owe his relatives money, too? Yeah, that’s Obama’s AmeriKKKa.
Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your......
(Since all records of obama's past were lost in a tragic boating accident and fire, no one can be certain that the guy in the red circle isn't him...)
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Movin’ on up?
If the agreement went beyond, “We treated him at the best of our ability at the time, bug off” then it was a screw job.
Let me get this straight.
Duncan lied about being exposed to Ebola to get into this country.
Close to a million dollars in treatment was given to him before he passed
And now his family is getting a settlement?
WTF?
I am hoping the very most they would get is a cleared balance of the costs incurred. Which shouldn’t happen anyway.
life is not fair, never was, never will be...the evil triumph while the good suffer...
Uh, the guy was sick and they sent him home. I’d say the hospital screwed up really, really, bad. The family is lucky they didn’t get it.
If the hospital was competant, we never would’ve had this hysteria.
He owed 500,000 for his stay, so who is paying for that?
well, with a good lawyer they could be rich. And the cause of fever was missed in the ER: They needed to get his history of travel, and even if he didn’t volunteer that he came recently from Africa, the docs etc should have checked it out. He had a high fever, and it could have been typhoid, malaria, salmonella, hepatitis and several other diseases that are common in west Africa...not just Ebola. But they sent him home. Wonder what tests they did.
even if he lied about Ebola, there is a lot of other diseases that have similar symptoms like malaria and typhoid, so how did they get these tests back that fast?
Bet the doc was overworked and missed it.
How good is Jesse Jackson’s lawyer?
Well, I am sure Je$$e Jack$on is getting a big fat cut of the settlement since he was the go-between.
