I have only basic Dish but am getting free HBO right now. I can see why I don’t subscribe to it. Absolutely nothing worth watching.

I have not seen a single movie on today which could be linked to memorial day.

A good one would be “Sgt. York”.

Yep, great choice...
We’re using the DVD collection.
We have “Longest Day”, “Guns of Navarone”, “Where Eagles Dare”, as well as “We Were Soldiers” and a bunch more...
Screw Netflix and cable...
You can get these DVDs used and cheap on Amazon with excellent picture quality and can watch them anytime you want....

I could watch the “Band Of Brothers” series all day, year long. Well done and historically correct.

Travis Mcgee posted that PBS at 9:00EST will be showing a new show on the Navy SEALs. Seems it was pre-screened by some frogs that gave it a thumbs up.

The musical Chasing Rainbows (1930) concluded with a musical number celebrating Armistice Day. Although most of the film is still intact, this scene has been lost. It featured the song Happy Days are Here Again, which became a smash hit.

Great movie! Montgomery served in the Navy during WWII and actually commanded a PT boat.

It's based on the expoits of Lt. John Bulkeley.

yes, this is my personal favorite. However, I've probably already watched it 10 times, so will look for something else to watch tonight.

Watching The Duke, Donna Reed and Robt Montgomery in this movie and it’s like they are living the war...no Hollywood veneer just honor portrayal.
Damn fine movie....
