Oregon Democrats, especially in the Senate, virtually ran the table Tuesday night, clearing the way for an ambitious agenda heavy on environmental and income-equality issues in the 2015 legislative session.
With one race still too close to call, Democrats surprised most analysts by pushing their majority in the Senate to at least 17-to-12.
Depending on the outcome of a lone undecided race in Washington County, Democrats could pick up a net of two seats from the 16-to-14 edge they held during the 2014 session.
"I'm not surprised they picked up one seat, but two would be pretty impressive," said Jim Moore, a political science professor at Pacific University. "It was not the Republicans' night."

I pretty much wrote of the entire left coast (California, Washington and Oregon) as a lost cause over a decade ago. Let the loons have their socialist “utopia” just don’t expect the rest of us to bail them out when they end up like Detroit...
Code for less jobs, more taxes, everyone makes minimum wage with just enough income to buy pot.
I still remember my liberal paper’s analysis of the 1994 races, “Great night for Democrats as they sweep local and mayoral races.” Not kidding.
This is what the leftists can do with “vote by mail.”
The only state that’s gonna tank any faster is Vermont if they do single payer.
Simple solution, don’t live in or move to Oregon.
