I’ve had it many times, but I am not that fond of it. I guess my scotch tastes are a bit plebeian because I am more attracted to the serviceable blended mid-range brands, Ballentines, Famous Grouse, Dewars...

Single malts are expensive, pretentious, and peaty. OK, Yamazaki is not peaty, but it still has a sharp bite that I just don’t find attractive.

I like the peaty, and sweet, and bity, and smooth. Only a couple that I find intolerable.

I look forward to the day I can taste it.

For a while, a few years ago, the Japanese were buying up *all* the Lagavulin....and it was hard to come by in the USA.

My favorite has been ‘vulin [for a long time] ...it takes some getting used to, but by the third swallow it’s like butterscotch.

I doubt if I will pay $95. just to taste it. I’ll see what the price is, in New Hampshire.
