When I was a kid you could buy “Destroyer” carbines in 9mm Largo for less than $20 through the mail. The odd caliber kept me from getting one but I would sure like to have one now.
Yup! I can shoot 454 in my S&W 460.
Lastly, It makes a really loud BOOM that makes me all giddy inside.
My perception is that there’s less rise than with a typical .45 ACP load in the same platform. My go-to round are Winchester Silver Tips, which admittedly, are by no means the hottest 10mm factory round out there, but they are what my weapon, by far and away, groups tightest. I have shot hotter loads, and to me, while the recoil is not “heavier” than a typical .45 ACP load, it’s snappier and quicker, and I can get the sights back on target I think, quicker than with a .45, (even with hotter loads) but wouldn’t count on doing so without the arched mainspring housing.
I’ve been using a 625 loaded with 45 super. 255 grain hardcast at 1100 FPS. It hits with authority but all that steel gets heavy humping up a mountain.
I do miss my .357 revolver though.
I love the old slab sides, I would love to have one in 10mm but they are out of my budget.
I have a series 70 and commander, with factory ammo, they seem to rise a lot more that the G20 even with the hot hunting ammo. I was curious how they did with 10mm. Thanks for responding.

I would love to have a Delta Elite, but can’t even imagine finding a Thompson in 10mm.
I have looked into the conversions for the Glocks and other handguns that turn the handgun into an SBR. These are very tempting.
Was that Thompson a pistol or rifle?
Guns that can put out over 500ft/lbs are just a BLAST to shoot! No pun intended, I REALLY like them!
I carry a Smith & Wesson 329. A 44 Magnum that weights only about 25 oz. I shoot hand-loaded 270gr Speer DeepCurl (Gold Dot). They were designed for big game in mind with the ability to break bones, expand, yet, stay together.
Carry a G29.... really like the 10mm
Mine was the 1911 style pistol. I also had a couple of .45s made by Auto Ordinance and they were rougher. One regularly failed to extract. Fortunately a new extractor cured the problem. I looked it up in the NRA take down book and it was ridiculously easy to replace. Actually the entire 1911 is easy to detail strip if you have the instructions.
One of the .45s had a slight blemish in the bore, it looked like a tiny pit. I phoned Auto Ordinance and the sent me a new barrel for free. The new one was not as accurate as the old blemished one so I just kept it as a spare. I phoned them and they told me by all means keep the original and the replacement for free. I mentioned that the new barrel fit more tightly than the original and the worker told me they needed a Little looseness at the edge of where the chamber hood met the frame. I took some emery paper and removed just a tiny bit of metal from the back of the barrel hood.
Oddly the blemished one was very accurate.
They did make a Tommy Gun in 10mm but I never even saw one.

I own two Hi-Point carbines - one in 9mm and the other in .40 cal. I can't recommend them enough. Great shooters, and accurate as heck.
Price point for each is around the $300 mark, and you can't beat Hi-Point's lifetime warranty or service. They'll fix any of their guns, no questions asked. Their warranty also follows the gun, not the owner.

I have one in .460 Rowland. Accurate and reliable, and a bit of fun too.

G21SF is my primary carry weapon when im out and about, can’t be a Glock! and with it being 45 cal and a 14 rounder, i should be able to neutralize any threat/thug that tries to do me any harm! I keep a Ruger LCP 380 in my front pocket while im working and of course the G21 not far away on my toolbox!

460 Rowland is my next project, maybe.
It would definitely hit harder than the 10 mm, but I ended up going with the 10mm I don’t care if I beat up a Glock.
