It’s a good moment for the Iraqi forces. They discovered in the last 60 days who their cowardly and treacherous commanders are, and can replace them with more competent men.
IS also has made mistakes. First, an estimated 30,000 guys are spread out over huge areas in two countries, armed primarily with Toyota trucks and no air cover. Second, they chopped off a bunch of local heads as they took towns, meaning that the locals won’t be supportive. Third, they took some Kurdish land, and the Kurds will not rest 24/7 until they get it back.
If we can keep the aged Senator from AZ and the President from assisting the head choppers, the Syrians, Iraqis and Kurds will eventually be able to take care of business.
Hey give the Kurds their independence and country after this. I wonder if the Iraqi army, that originally ran and fled, would be on the offense again if it were not for the victories of the Kurds? Sad it took the pictures of ISIS atrocities to motivate a US response - its seems this is the only way the US does anything worthwhile now - as a political response rather than initiating. ISIS should have been stopped at the Syrian border.
This may be just a planted story....hard to trust anyone these days.
