Really? Highly unlikely she will ever be defeated. Her district is so gerrymandered it probably looks like a slithering snake. We got those kinds of districts in Florida believe me.
We have some weirdly shaped Congressional districts in FL so that we can comply with the “Minority-Majority” mandate
of the Justice Department. Norton speaks for the whole District of Columbia. DC is not divided for the purpose of sending delegation to the Congress.
Gerrymandering doesn't enter into Eleanor's case. She represents DC, which is all one "district." DC votes 90%-plus democrat, so I'm not expecting a tea party insurgency to turn her out. A primary challenge is possible, but since the DC representative is non-voting, there is not a lot of the sizzle in that steak. Primary contests for city council and mayor are vigorously contested, but no one seems much interested in challenging Eleanor for a fake job (albeit a high-paying one). It's a sinecure for a non-entity.
