KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- By the time Madison Bumgarner took the mound to throw his first pitch, the San Francisco Giants already held a three-run lead.
It might as well have been 100 with the way MadBum and this orange-and-black bunch play in the World Series.
Bumgarner carried a shutout into the seventh inning, Hunter Pence homered early and the Giants showed off their October poise, putting a sudden stop to the Kansas City Royals' perfect postseason roll by romping 7-1 in the Series opener Tuesday night.

GO GIANTS!
Nothing says October like orange and black.
It’s amazing that Joe Buck AND Harold Reynolds turn “garner” into “gardner.” Have to mute the broadcast because of these two bozos.
I subscribed to MLBTV so I get the radio broadcast with Kruk & Kuip and John Miller. It’s a few seconds ahead of the FOX video, but I can turn that down and enjoy the modern masters of baseball broadcasting calling the game!
lOOKS LIke bumgarner is gone until game 5.
I know,
response: there ain’t gonna be a game 5.
The Giants looked pretty much unstoppable tonight.
I wouldn’t give much for KCs chances.
Radio description accompanying the video sounds amazing. I hate FOX TV broadcasts because of all the replays/graphics/interviews/commercial interjects that take away from the actual game on the field. (Not to mention Reynolds and his clichés.) The visual commotion is more noticeable when the mute is on.
The only reason the Giants won is because Las Vegas odds makers cursed the Royals by betting they’d take the series.
GO ROYALS!!!!!
GO ROYALS!!!
KC might as well have had Mark Shields on the mound instead of James Shields last night.
It doesn’t matter how they get in, but once the Giants get into the playoffs they are unstoppable.
KC looked pretty weak - and I’m rooting for KC.
I’m thinking Giants in five.
