Ole Miss safety Cody Prewitt offered some foreshadowing before his then-No. 11 Rebels toppled No. 3 Alabama on Oct. 4. We understand that we haven't played a team that's going to be as good as Bama, Prewitt told FoxSports.com the week prior to the game. But we don't really think Bama is as good as they have been. And we're better than we have been.
Prewitt might have been on to something with the Crimson Tide. Ole Miss beat Alabama 23-17, the Rebels' first win over the Tide in 10 tries. The next week Bama squeaked out a 14-13 win at Arkansas over the same Razorbacks program that Alabama beat by a combined score of 104-0 in the teams' previous two meetings.
While coach Nick Sabans squad still sits at 5-1 and No. 7 in the AP Poll, its performance raises the question: Has Bama's air of invincibility disappeared?

(1) Alabama would have beaten Ole Miss if they had connected on that last pass play.
(2) Every team is going to have a down year.
(3) I would never rule them out.
(4) They’ve had more than their share of injuries this year.
(5) They’re lacking the necessary talent a few positions this year.
(6) If Bama doesn’t win it all this year. Go MSU Bulldogs!
I will second your Go MSU Bulldogs!
HOTTY TODDY!!!!
I went to MS State in the good ole days. Coach Dan and the team are having a fantastic year. About time! Hail State. I know the Voice of the Bulldogs, Jack Cristil, would be thrilled. He was the best.
Spoken like a true Bandwagon Bama Fan....
HOTTY TODDY!!!!
I don’t hate Ole Miss. I would pull for them to win it all if MSU doesn’t. I just happen to work with more MSU fans.
I hope so! Gig ‘em Aggies!
Yes. Next question.
From up here in Big 10 country, I’d say that maybe their air of invincibility is a tad diminished.
But I’d hate the be the team that has to play them on any given Sunday. Alabama still has the power and strength to ruin any team’s Saturday afternoon.
Even the greatest teams stumble every now and then. Maybe this year is Alabama’s to stumble. But Saban’s a good coach and he’ll have no problem catching the eye of any 4 or 5 star recruit. IOW, he’ll reload.
They are both having a great year.
And if it follows true to form then when they go 7-5 and 6-6 the next two years they’ll both fire their coaches.
“And if it follows true to form then when they go 7-5 and 6-6 the next two years theyll both fire their coaches.”
At least they’ll still be ranked in the top 10. Stupid SEC bias.
Baloney. If they lose that many games, they will not even be ranked in the top 25. It has happened in the past. Right now, the SEC is the best conference in the country. I have been around football since I was about 8 years old and am now 70. I learned the game by listening to Jack Cristil on the radio. I would get a sheep of paper and do the plays, yards gained/lost, downs, etc. That was about 1952 with another play by play man and then Jack took over. State has never been ranked this high unless it was that 1941 season. Hail State.
LOL. Sheep should be sheet.
Something for everyone;

Why would any team want that guy on their staff? I do not understand. There is something very wrong about him. What did they do with the athlete who was caught with drugs and money?
