U.S. Army warns of potential 'airborne' Ebola Virus could be transmitted by means other than contact

NEW YORK – While Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization officials continue to insist Ebola cannot be transmitted by air from one person to another, an Army manual clearly warns the virus could be an airborne threat in certain circumstances.

The handbook published by the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, USAMRID, titled “USAMRID’s Medical Management of Biological Casualties Handbook,” is now in its seventh edition.

The most recent edition was published in 2011, with more than 100,000 copies distributed to military and civilian health-care providers around the world.

On page 117 of the handbook, in a chapter discussing “Viral Hemorrhagic Fever” (VHF), a category of viruses that includes Ebola, USAMRID says: “In several instances, secondary infections among contacts and medical personnel without direct body fluid exposure have been documented. These instances have prompted concern of a rare phenomenon of aerosol transmission of infection.”

Page 117 continues to specify: “Therefore, when VHF is suspected, additional infection control measures are indicated.”

USAMRID recommends the patient should be hospitalized in a private room with an adjoining anteroom to be used for donning and removing protective barriers, storage of supplies and decontamination of laboratory specimen containers

The leftist media continues to repeatedly disseminate false and lethally dangerous information to the entire country.

Ebola can travel through the air as an aerosol and kill you. There is an abundance of scientific evidence and a plethora of PhD scientists that support this.

If the left is wrong about this, what else are they wrong about? ,/p>

I am quite sure they'll come around to reality as soon as they get past the election-just like Benghazi.

In the mean time, just like Benghazi, they are lying to the country to improve their chances of winning elections. But what difference does it make?

Meanwhile, nurses and healthcare workers are expected to go along with this BS and sure enough, they became infected and a threat to us all. This needs to be addressed.

I’ve read that it is airborne within a confined space.

It should be obvious to anyone that isn’t a moron that if I have Ebola (God Forbid, please!) and sneeze or cough, the air around me will be filled with tiny water droplets that could contain the Ebola virus.

As these droplets settle and dry, the virus is active, I think I read, for several days.

Hello??

Common sense is disappearing fast.

confines space-like an airplane, a bus, a bathroom, a hospital waiting room, etc.

The left is stooping to new lows trying to convince registered voters that Ebola isn't a threat prior to the election.

HIV wasn't a threat either, until it was. How many lives has it destroyed since then?

we should have a few lefty CDC figures spend an hour or two in an isolation room about 3-5 feet away from an ebola patient who is violently aerosolizing various body fluids out of every orifice and see how they’re dying in 21 days. er, doing I meant.

“I think the gov’t wants us to keep.our guard down til it is epidemic proportions”
Alinsky playbook- never let a good crisis go to waste- corallary- if crisis does not exist manufacture one.

For we mere serfs:

The beauty of instant communication- internet and such.
The serfs are more difficult to fool, if you have just slight distruct of govt, trust but verify.
If you are like me- trust nothing the govt says- it is usually half truth or outright lie.

HIV has never been a threat to anyone who does not partake in certain activities.

The manual makes clear it’s lumping Ebola in with other diseases.

The center for infectious disease research and policy has said the same thing, that Ebola specifically can travel through the air, presumably, as an aerosolized particle. These are the people that advise policymakers on infectious diseases. Here's an article from Breitbart that lays it out. Google ebola, airborne, cidrap for more of the same.
