Ebola is a viral disease in more ways than one. And with bad taste costumes now a Halloween must-have, it was really only a matter of time before someone decided to cash in.

The Ebola Containment Suit Costume is now available to buy from online Halloween costume shop brandsOnSale for $79.99 (£50).

---snip---

Nevertheless, following the backlash on social media this week, brandsOnSale CEO Johnathan Weeks told The Atlantic: ‘We don’t stray away from anything that’s current or controversial or anything like that,’ before confiding, ‘If I told you we had a toddler ISIS costume in the works, your mouth would drop. Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

By Halloween, it won't be a "costume" but everyday [survival] wear.

Thanks Hussein! (/sarc)

A better idea would be a mask of someone bleeding from the eyes and nose as if he has ebola, and wearing a “I (heart) Sierra Leone” T-Shirt.

Not just for Halloween... makes for mighty fine business travel attire as well!

... and wearing a “I (heart) Sierra Leone” T-Shirt.

I would strongly advise parents against dressing their children in this, as there are enough fruitcakes out there that they might even attack their children.
