This woman was only six months along plus her twins were monoamniotic. Some one here is going to have to fill us in on that that is.

Just looking at that word without opening a dictionary, I would say Mono-Amniotic means twins being carried in the same amniotic sac inside their Mommy’s tummy, I mean uterus.

They share the same placenta and the same amniotic sac. It’s dangerous because of cord entanglement which is why they have a 50/50 chance of making it. Mom is usually put on bed rest in the hospital and monitored for that reason.
