Turnout fears mount for Dems

The Democratic Party's worst fears about the midterm election look to be coming true.

Polling in recent weeks suggests turnout on Election Day could be very low, even by the standards of recent midterms. That’s bad news for Democrats because core groups in the liberal base are more likely to stay home than are people in the demographic segments that lean Republican.

A Gallup poll last week found that voters are less engaged in this year's midterms than they were in 2010 and 2006. Only 33 percent of respondents said they were giving at least “some” thought to the upcoming midterms, compared to 46 percent in 2010 and 42 percent in 2006. Even more troubling for Democrats, Republicans held a 12-point advantage when those paying “some” attention were broken down by party.

Historically, the core Democratic constituencies of young people, minorities and single women are more likely to skip voting in midterm elections. The current projections suggest that months of effort by the Democratic Party to engage those groups on issues such as the minimum wage and women's pay may have been in vain.

Looks as though the union thugs are going to need some new Louisville Sluggers to get the ‘RAT voters to the polls.

Friends, perhaps the MOST IMPORTANT election in America's history is coming on November 4th! Like many of you, I'm not thrilled with the GOP choices before us. But until we somehow overcome the ignorance and apathy of so many millions around us who DO NOT THINK, it's what we have.  All those of us who DO THINK and REMEMBER the America we have allowed to slip into the abyss of tyranny had better SHOW UP and VOTE.  It's a numbers game and the donkey party will be up to their usual vote fraud/ballot box stuffing antics.  If we're to even start to turn this mess around, we'd better BE THERE IN RECORD NUMBERS on 11/4!!!

Could it be that all of the Obama-inspired events are taking democrats minds off keeping Obama in power?

Like the race war he is foaming, and all the economic problems beset by him?

And, he expects them to jump to their feet and vote for the dems?

Perhaps Obama has overwhelmed the system a tad too much.

Buy stock in Phillip Morris and RJR. I predict sales of cigarettes handed out by Democrats to low-information voters will skyrocket!

They could learn a thing or two from Haley Barbour's nephew.

Every indication was that Democrats involvement was way, way, way, way down in 2012, leading Gallup (which factors such involvement) to predict a Romney win. This year may be somewhat better because several key states are moving back towards proper oversight of voting.

As long as Dem’s control the electoral process in the metropolitan areas they will control national elections.

Dem votes are in no way representative of democratic process.

In related news, Colorado and Oregon have already reported that both states went for Democrats 91-13%.

Colorado might as well - all ballots are mail-in, and they have same day registration.

Isn't it past time for you folks to get the hell off the Democrat plantation?

It’s odd that you still repeat a fraudulent quote falsely attributed to Jefferson weeks after learning that it was fraudulent. I hope your ministry operates at higher standards of ethics.
