Maybe supply and demand will work. I was in the pricey grocery store yesterday (for a diabetic item) and they were selling pork tenderloin roasts 2 for 1. Which made the price almost reasonable. Also, an indication that people were not buying at the elevated price and they are having to reduce to sell.

This week’s sales circular shows 12 oz of store brand bacon is $3.50. That’s too high for this household’s budget.

After the terrible drought 3-4 years ago when the cattle ranchers had to sell off their stock, prices should have dropped. They didn’t. They rose. Now that most cattle ranches have built their stock back up, prices are still skyrocketing. The cheapest 70% ground beef is $3.60 in the 5 lb tube. They don’t sell the 10 lb. tube anymore. In fact, the large economy size containers of everything is no longer being sold here. The cheap off brands aren’t on the shelves, either.
