Color, married? working? job? I thought so! She has to fit in at least one of these catagories if not all
I had a friend who once fostered two teenage sisters in order to keep them together. They ultimately adopted the younger but had to return the older one back to CPS because she was totally out of control and would beat the younger one if left alone with her.
There's more to that story but the bottom line is that the older one was just plain crazy......
God blessed me with four daughters and the wisdom I needed to raise them without repeating my mother’s behavior.
When I said the kid was sick I mean “sick in the head”. The kid in this story was adopted when she was 10. So God only knows what happened the first 10 years of her life, but I’m willing to bet it was a lot to make her “sick in the head”. Anything could happen. That is why she’s not with her real parents right now.
Most parents when they say they cant get help it means they cant get their insurance to pay for it. Then we have this happen.
______________
The type of kid you describe will only be dealt with by specialized care and one admission can lose you your house.
Most teen adoptees have health care but you would be surprised how hard it is to get mental healthcare on the state dime.
Is that a touch of anger at me for what I said or just a statement on your part............?
I thought you misunderstood what I meant.
My daughter is a blessing and makes me a better person.
That said, the 2 preexisting children (about 5 and 9 yrs old) of this meth-mother are psychologically damaged and beyond repair. They will never be fully functional and happy people. They have 2 different fathers who are in 2 different prisons.
I all know this because the meth-mom is my sister in law and I see her and her children a few times a year. Her children are now being raised by the grandparents, who are my parents-in-law.
Yes, Christmas is interesting!

If only you had gotten those two when they popped out. The difference would have been have been a much better life.
Woulda / Coulda / Shoulda!
Did you not have the chance? Did you not know her then?
Didn’t pretty much all of our parents have to eat dirty cat litter, before walking ten miles to school, barefoot, in the snow, uphill, both ways?
Not all of us were adopted.
I wasn't married to her sister yet, and I did not know the extent of her drug problems.
As a druggie, she hid her addiction, which is to be expected.
Her family is still in denial, even after she had her druggie friends burglarize/steal all her dad's guns so as to pawn and buy drugs.
I just remembered: It was ME who paid for her rehab! 5K down the drain. Live and learn, I guess.
But yeah, I regret not taking those kids at the outset. I failed in that regard.
