mbl like the nba and the nfl are privately owned...they can make whatever rules they want and they can direct their umps to call games certain ways....it is not illegal....

but it makes all the outcomes very questionable.....

the big leagues have certain things and certain teams and certain players they want to promote and they'll do it........
