Iowa's 3rd Congressional District Republican comes out for Amnesty

Posted on 10/09/2014 5:03:54 PM PDT by ObamahatesPACoal

David Young of Iowa's 3rd Congressional District wants to give work permits to 12 million illegals. The only story available is copyright. The retiring Tom Latham was more conservative on every issue than this David Young character.

I hope Joni Ernst can still win the Senate race. David Young worked for Grassley. Grassley and Jeff Sessions were probably the 2 best on the Judiciary in terms of exposing Chuck Schumer. What has Young learnt on immigration from his time with Grassley? I know Grassley says he doesn't like using the word amnesty but Grassley pretty much trashed every aspect of the bill and voted against even opening debate.

Ummmm, work permits are not the same as citizenship. Not even close. Are you trying to stir something up?

Work permits are worse because they have a chance of passing congress.

They are crossing the border to steal jobs not to vote for John McCain.

So you’re a believer in giving illegals those jobs 12 million Americans don’t need and won’t do? Is that you Jorge Bush? If they are not sent home, it’s amnesty. Work permits legalize them and legalizing them will give them the opportunity to become citizens. Even though they broke the law doing it.

If someone is trying stir something up here, it’s you.

Is Steve King or David Young closer to the voters on this issue?

He got you too. This is good. Interesting how sociopolitical dynamics on the internet works. Some dude just got on a conservative web forum to claim that a candidate stands for amnesty because he favors work permits?
No linky, no nuttin. He is trying to marginilize support from conservatives for Republican candidates. It works.

Work permits by definition means permitting someone to work here legally. I have a big problem with anyone who wants to give legal permission to illegals to do anything but go home.

Now if you want to argue that he didn’t really say those things since there is no proof, that is something different. But if you are going to stand up arguing for work permits, you can go join Mitt, Yertl McConnell, McInsane, Pansy Grahamnesty and Boner in the RINO wing.

Every last one a traitor trying to destroy this country.

work permits are just a step away from green cards. Get a green card and you get citezenship in 5 years. It plainly puts them on the path to become Democrat voters.

The reference is to a Des Moines Register story.

Young is in no danger of losing. His female, terrorist-friendly opponent is a befuddled leftist kook with bad hair in a very conservative district

Funny he didn’t mention this during the primary. Wonder why?

It amounts to the same thing.

They are legalized, which by definition, is an Amnesty.

You might want to crack open a dictionary.

Why would we award citizens of other nations residing here illegally with a work permit? What ‘vital’ work is it that they will be doing?

Wow, I checked and you are correct. This Amnesty promoter SHOULD NOT BE ELECTED since he would simply be a reinforcement for Boehner to help tip the House Republican caucus to supporting “Immigration Reform/Amnesty”.

I’d encourage any FReeper in Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District to vote AGAINST Dave Young. It’s clear that he’s an operative of the Washington DC establishment. The current makeup of the Republican House caucus has a sufficient number of anti-Amnesty constitutional conservatives to PREVENT amnesty. We need to increase the number of these constitutional conservatives in the House (as we are doing this year) but adding PRO-AMNESTY Republicans is counterproductive to this effort.

He is one of only a handful of Republican candidates I support voting against.

I am a political consultant who lived and worked for months in IA-3 for a conservative candidate in the GOP congressional primary.

IA-3 is not a “very conservative district.” Before Latham (ACU score 84%; not bad, but not “very conservative”) the voters chose a Dem, Boswell (before that the 3rd didn’t exist as it is today).

Young is certainly in danger of losing, as the Sept. 10 Loras College poll shows (Appel 40%, Young 34%, 5.6% margin of error).

Sadly, Young is a very weak candidate. For example, he took a month’s vacation after he was nominated! Until recently his website hadn’t been updated since the primary. He’s trying to move left to win the general election, making the classic mistake of thinking conservatives have no place to go.

Yes, they do. It’s called staying home.

Moreover, Young has very serious baggage that the DMR (and therefore the Appel campaign) knows all about. The October surprise is coming.

Young is in deep trouble.

The DCCC wouldn’t be pouring in the money if they thought he wasn’t.

What is wrong with work permits? Sounds like a good idea to.me. It is not amnesty...not even close.

Simply because a DemocRAT would not be voting within the House’s Republican caucus. This character is FOR a “pathway to citizenship” (known correctly as amnesty for those unafraid of speaking the word) and for “getting things done” & “working across the aisle” (all code language for working with ‘Rats to give them what they want).

The 2014 election will yield an increased number of Republicans in the House. In the Republican caucus currently the number of conservative Republican is high enough to USUALLY keep Boehner from heading off to give the Chamber of Commerce an unending supply of cheap labor through AMNESTY and other progressive actions. My hope is that in addition to increasing the absolute number of conservatives in the House Republican caucus we also SUBSTANTIALLY increase the percentage of conservatives in the caucus. Electing this AMNESTY SHILL does not advance us toward that goal but works against that goal. Replacing RINOs (e.g., Cantor with Brat) in conservative districts advances our mission; replacing relative conservatives with RINOs such as Young does NOT advance the mission but, rather, hinders it.
