I didn’t know that Christopher Plummer was a jerk.
Christopher Plummer apparently changed his mind later because he DID reunite again with the cast in Oct. 2010 at the Oprah Winfrey show.

I thought that Plummer was a truly amazing singer, as opposed to the entire cast in the remake. The von Trapps would have been flops if they sounded like the remake cast. lol
