You're talking total fatalities, I'm talking fatality rate. If you get the Flu there's a 5% chance you die - with Ebola, it's like 60% or greater.

The fact is you are probably going to get the flu multiple times in your life, you will almost certainly lose someone in your life to the flu (probably somebody with an already compromised immune system but it will happen). You will not catch ebola, no one you know will ever catch ebola, probably no one you know will ever know someone who caught ebola. This is what makes the flu by far the more dangerous.
