The parents of Ebola patient Ashoka Mukpo discuss the presumption that their son contracted Ebola from washing a car.

I see a horror movie in this:
Car Wash of Death
Makes me think of the pressure washer guys in Dallas.
How long had that vomit been lying there, and any news about them? I assume they were quarantined.
I’m surprised racism hasn’t been used as it’s cause.
The guy’s white. I assume he changed his name.
‘Trailer Park of Terror’ 2008. Zombies a go go.
Where did he get that name? I think he was raised by his mom and took her last name, but I’ve never heard of the first name Ashoka. Some people will invent new names where none existed before. I sense that he has am overpowering need to play ‘savior’ or hero. This may explain Ashoka’s determination to head into Liberia just when Ebola began taking scores of lives in that area. This is the kind of inner need that drives a free American Citizen to go strolling about in Iran or North Korea. If Ashoka lives through this, he will return to Liberia, where he feels ‘heroic’.
US Ebola patient Ashoka Mukpo once hailed as reincarnated lama
“His mother, Diana Mukpo, comes from an upper-class aristocratic family in Britain. At age 16, she left boarding school in Scotland and married Tibetan Buddhist leader Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, who founded the Shambhala community that spread Buddhism in the west. She was one of several wives.”

Ashoka is an Indian name.
.
See my post for info about this bizarre person.
The vehicle belonged to a person who died in the car from Ebola.
Evidently, Ashoka did not wear any protective clothing while doing the car washing.
So, as a freelance photog, he decided volunteer for washing an Ebolamobile.
Since he has been reincarnated already, he has nothing to worry about.
Emperor “Ashoka”
Last major emperor in the Mauryan dynasty of India. His vigorous patronage of Buddhism during his reign (c. 265238 bce; also given as c. 273232 bce) furthered the expansion of that religion throughout India and subsequently to China..
Asboka is a home O...
Your article certainly does explain a lot, and confirms my initial impression of this needy young man, who feels compelled, predestined even, to help people by any means necessary. This sounds like a DiCapprio Movie Script. Leo would play Ashoka, Meryl Streep or Mia Farrow playing the English Aristocrat Mom, and Robert DeNiro would play a nondescript bureaucrat as The Bio Dad. I wondered why each article kept pointing out that he was The Bio Dad. Now I get it. I wish somebody would interview Joni Mitchell about that time in her life, it may temporarily take her mind off some of her health problems.
Ashoka Mukpo was adopted at some point in his life by his stepfather, a Tibetan lama whose family name was Mukpo, and who is better known by the name Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche.
When Trungpa passed away in 1987, I suppose that his wife Diana Mukpo went on with her life, as did Ashoka.
The sentence “She was one of several wives.” is complete BS. Chogyam Trungpa bedded many women, that is certain; I knew quite a few of them. But he was not a polygamist, just a skirt chaser.
