The last time there was total cloud cover here. So I’m boycotting lunar eclipses.

“In the predawn hours of Oct. 8, early risers and restless souls weary from insomnia are in for a rare spectacle as the Hunter’s Moon glows a coppery red, and is veiled by Earth’s great shadow.”

I stayed up way too late last time, but got some good pic of the moon. Doubt i will last so long tonight, thought it will be around midnight my time. We geezers need our rest.

Alarm is set for 4 AM. Camera/tripod is set up, just have to carry it outside. We have some clouds here in north central Colorado, so it’s a bit dicey.

Moon just clouded over here in Colorado central front range. :(

I just told Mrs. Catnipman that as far as I can remember almost every major celestial event including almost all of the meteor showers have always clouded over.

I’ll watch the re-run.

Lunar eclipses are not all that exciting, unless the moon really does turn to blood.

The event is known as a 'blood moon'

No, it's known as a lunar eclipse. Don't know where this recent viral fad of calling it "blood moon" started.

In AZ during monsoon season, the winds whip up the dust and we ‘semi’ often get some very blood-looking moons. Beautiful stuff in a surreal horror movie/post apocalyptic way.

LOL...yes, or even cheese...

I think it’s just because I am probably not going to see these things for too much longer..so I would like to enjoy them while I can.

Call it a bucket list.
