IF Republicans retake the Senate and make gains in the House, is there any way to nullify Obama's reckless EO/EAs?

Please tell me there is a way to undo all the destruction he has achieved with his 'phone and pen'.

I don’t think it can be undone until another president overrides one. I could be mistaken.

The Google answer is:

Congress may attempt to overturn an executive order by passing legislation (a bill) that opposes the order. However, the President can veto that bill, and Congress would then need to override that veto to pass the bill. Also, the Supreme Court can declare an executive order to be unconstitutional.

If there is a way, I doubt the Republicans will use it. Except for a handful of conservatives, the vast majority of Republicans are liberals. This is not the party of Reagan.

Even if O’Bola gets ebola, his illegal orders will stand. To nullify would be racist, don’t ya know. All hail President O’Bola!

Simple, take it to the US Supreme Court.

Since Tricky Dick Nixon, Executive orders can only affect the Executive branch otherwise it breaks our constitution.

Domestic laws can only come from the US House of Representatives, be agreed with the US Senate and be signed by a sitting US President before it becomes law (not by fiat and executive order).

The Constitutional Law Professor has had a very bad track record with the US Supreme Court. It is his Achilles Heel.

Not unless the opposition has veto-proof majorities in both congress and the senate. A new president, however, can nullify them with a stroke of the pen.

Boehner already gave up most of the tools the House had —
the power of the purse, etc.

Boehner has also already made it clear to the new House (2015) that he will remain speaker and that the conservatives/Tea Party are going to get even less preferential treatment that they got this session.

Don’t expect McConnell to be must different if the Republicans to win the Senate and McConnell does win reelection.

Prove that Obola is an Illegal president. All of his decrees would therefore be instantly invalid. You have to show more documentation for a dog license than Obolo provided for his Presidential Coronation.

We have a winner! I’ve been saying for years that EO’s are NOT laws! Neither are administrative policies of the many alphabet agencies.

Bingo. I know I ask a silly question: Why perpetuate that which is wrong? (Yes, ‘it’s not BAD when OUR side does it’ *PFFFT*)

A LOT of hand-wringing over a ‘simple’ Constitutional matter (though, IMHO, moot as we are no longer a Constitutional Republic).

- President’s job is to faithfully execute the Law, as Constitutionally passed (yeah, ding one...)
- President creates OE/etc. to bypass/negate the Law/create Law/or effect outside of Executive bounds
- OE is null/void (as are all else that are repugnant to the Constitution...not that there’s been much since 191x’s)
- Congress can begin impeachment proceedings (It is to cry...ding two)

The GOP controlled house could stop him now.

A GOP controlled House and Senate can stop him in 2015.

The power available is the power of the purse. The people’s Damocles sword over any king or tyrant.

Vote a budget, or (continuing resolution as we have been doing now for years) to fund ONLY what conservatives want to allow to happen. Prez and Senate can accept that budget/resolution as passed by the House or not.

If accepted by Senate and passed and signed by Prez, funded government programs go along happily and the checks all go out EXCEPT for the projects, programs at issue.

If rejected by Harry Reid’s Senate (as it has each so called “shut down” in the past)and a real fiscal crisis happens. No authority to spend anything.

In each instance so far, the left lies and has used the media to perpetuate that lie that it is Congress shutting down government and starving veterans and pensioners.

It is actually the Senate and Prez’s refusal to live within the budget approved by the House. Period.

Our ball-less GOP then folds and funds it all. Until the GOP controlled House...regardless of who controls the Senate or who occupies the White House...uses this greatest of Constitutional powers, the Republic will continue to flounder.

To stop or rollback Prez from executive orders....stop the funding to execute those orders. Make him howl.

It is that simple, and frankly, most citizens and many reps don’t seem to understand it or refuse to take a courageous stand.

As I understand it, the President can rescind any Executive Order at any time. Congress can write legislation to rescind those orders, but the President still has veto over the legislation.
