Second weird moose story I’ve seen in as many days. Saw another one about a moose in Chetek, WI. not that far from the Twin Cities.

Back in the '70s, I was driving from Thunder Bay, ON to Fort Frances, ON. It was about 9:00pm. We were near Atikokan, ON when we saw a car pulled over with its flashers on. We asked if they needed help and they said "No thank you, we're here to see the moose."

There was a huge moose on the side of the road. It had been hit by a car - a Chevy Impala. The OPP had come by to put the poor thing down.

A few miles down the road we saw the car at a gas station - it was totaled. The moose had gone through the windshield and landed on the young couple in the front seat. They were from Manitoba and wound up spending their honeymoon in the hospital.
