No doubt. That's why I put the headline in the form of a question. He has the potential to be a legend. ;-)
But anyway, technically, I think he's tighter than Stevie. Maybe the guitarists out there can there can tell me. I was blown away by what I heard live. Not a wasted note, as far as I could tell.

Okay. The kid is a good guitar player. But,,,, he has some tempo problems. His Rhythm Section is tight and consistent, but he gets out of time several times, not badly, but noticeably. He’ll get off-time for a short series of licks, then get back on with the next series. But he’s good, and I generally enjoyed his playing. My problem is that I have perfect timing, and the inconsistencies are, to me, jarring. I lose the flow.

Just trying to establish my Bona Fides as far as guitar playing and music in general. I’ll probably be skewered like that poor guy at the Thomas hearings!
FZ was an acquaintance, but I hear more of a Santana influence in this young man. I’m not a Santana fan. In my opinion, this kid gives me more to listen to the Deva Dip, or whatever it is that Carlos calls himself!
But, these are just my opinions. This kid will go places,, I think!
