Yeah. Those microbeads are also polluting the oceans.
I brush with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Works great!
Those who waste their money buying name-brand products are sheep.
That Dr. sure is the go to guy for one line quotes for the news channels. A quick google and he pops up in 3 articles I saw. Not saying anything for/against him, but do they have him on speed dial or something?
Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop brushing my teeth.
What about these hard, weird toothbrushes? I’ve tried many brands, sizes, and even kids’ size. My mouth is small, and they all scratch my gums around my back teeth.
When I asked my dentist, he didn’t know what I meant. He’s younger with a huge mouth, so maybe he likes these monstrosities. Anyone know of a good, “old-fashion” toothbrush?

What do the microbeads do?
I’m a dental hygienist. Don’t use hard toothbrushes. Don’t use Ultrabrite. Don’t use stuff with microbeads or triclosan in it. If you use peroxide too frequently, you run the risk of developing an oral yeast infection and black, hairy tongue. Plaque is a soft, sticky, biofilm of bacteria. You need to brush and floss every day. The plaque reforms everyday. P.S. Don’t use Comet or Ajax on your teeth. You’ll get a nasty chemical burn and possibly poison yourself. Oh, yeah...go and get your teeth professionally at least twice a year. We clean off the mineral deposits (calculus) and stain that does NOT come off with normal brushing and flossing.
Errrg!!!
A couple of months ago we switched to Crest Complete. It took some time (which is why I didn’t make the link) but, after about three weeks, I came down with the worst case of gingivitis that I’ve ever had in my life. Over the next three weeks, my mouth fell apart. Ulcers, sheets of skin peeling off the inside of my cheeks, my lips swelling and cankers everywhere.
I finally made the link with the toothpaste and threw it away. Within a few days, the improvement was tremendous. But, after two weeks with baking soda, peroxide, salt water, etc, the gums around four teeth that won’t heal. As of yesterday, I noticed that I actually have a loose tooth. Dentist next week.
My daughter has also been using Crest Complete. She called me a few days ago, complaining that her gums hurt and were bleeding like hell whenever she brushed or flossed. I told her to trash the toothpaste. She’s already feeling better.
I’m going to stick with the cheap stuff from now on.
