If you're looking for a heartwarming advertisement about 9/11, look no further than this throwback ad from Budweiser in 2002.
The ad shows several Clydesdale horses crossing the Brooklyn Bridge and other scenes before the horses kneel down before a scene of New York City.
The ad was only shown once during the 2002 Super Bowl, but boy did it make an impact.
Here's a little more background on the ad from the St. Louis-based company AB Global Creative:
We filmed in New York City. We had a helicopter going over the Brooklyn Bridge. Mayor Guiliani let us into the city. The only film company of any sort right after 9-11 to actually come into air space with our helicopter to film the Clydesdale the hitch coming into Battery Park and it was amazing just amazing, said Bob Lachky, former executive vice president of AB Global Creative.

An “oldie, but a goody”.
BTTT!
That’s been my favorite one since they made it.
The NYC skyline is as much a symbol as our flag.
And we let a bunch of terrorists remove two stars, forever.
Good commercials, bad beer. Can’t criticize them for being unpatriotic, though.

i was in a bar with my wife watching the Super Bowl when the add came on...i had lost a friend in 9-11 and my wife had miscarried the first time she was pregnant a month earlier...i did all i could to not cry when i saw the ad..
now for the best part: the next day all the “experts” who critique the Super Bowl ads on liberal TV, panned it...
Well, my screen is all blurry.
This still brings tears to my eyes....it is so touching.
On the desktop of all my computers is my favorite image of me standing on Ellis Island with the Twin Towers behind me.
I get one of two responses whenever anyone sees it:
“Wow, you were in incredible shape in that picture”.
“Amazing! !! I’ll bet there are very few people with a picture of the towers behind them!”
They have great inspiring ads.
It’s a shame it’s a Belgian company now.
>>>Its a shame its a Belgian company now.<<<
Economically, perhaps. But anyone who knows beer knows that the Belgians are perhaps the world’s best brewers, with more amazing styles per capita than anywhere in the world.
Agreed!
But Budweiser has been steeped in Americana, deep in their roots. I visited their headquarters a few years ago (great fun!) and was moved by their American patriotism. So many years in the American dream. I think it’s a shame that they are no longer an American company.
Belgium knows their beer! But they know nothing about American patriotism.

Bud is dumping the Clydesdales to appeal to younger drinkers.
I will NEVER buy a Bud again if that happens.
What!?!
The Clydesdales are the best thing they have going.

If they get rid of the horses, how are they going to make beer?!
Yes, but what is they lose their existing clients???
