That isn't very "open-minded, tolerant and diverse" and in keeping with Democrat principles. /sarc.

Whew! For a minute there I thought it might be “gun violence” but my fears have been set aside. Just average every day run of the mill machete violence. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Albany Park is one of 77 well-defined Chicago, Illinois, community areas on the Northwest Side of the City of Chicago. It includes the Albany Park neighborhood, one of the most ethnically diverse in the United States. It has one of highest percentages of foreign-born residents of neighborhoods in Chicago.

Although the majority of those foreign-born residents are from Latin America, the majority from Mexico (especially from the state of Michoacán) and Guatemala, substantial numbers are from the Philippines, India, Korea, Cambodia, Somalia, the Former Yugoslavia (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia), Romania, Pakistan and the Middle East (especially Iraq, Iran, and Lebanon). Over 40 different languages are spoken in its public schools. (in an area with only 50,000 residents.)

At what point does vigilantism become justified?

If gangs roam the streets and chop people with machetes and the police are unable or politically unwilling to control them at what point do neighborhoods form not just neighborhood watches but neighborhood police forces that capture and punish miscreants?

If that happens does it simply escalate the problem? Do the thugs just show up with more weapons?

Nothing out of the ordinary to see here. Just the remarkable diversity of a once-noble, if messy, melting pot, tamed by its new politically-correct and suicidal master.

Self defense is not vigilantism. Of course in chit-cago, how many CCW’s are there?

The former governor of Illinois (Rod Blagojevich) lived within walking distance of this train station. The neighborhoods immediately east of the Kedzie station (Ravenswood Manor, Rockwell Gardens, Lincoln Square and Ravenswood) are gentrifying.

Immediately to the West in the Albany Park neighborhood, all types of chaos is taking place. The area looks like a Tijuana barrio. Hordes of illegal aliens are in residence in multiple unit apartment building. People are changing the oil on the cars in the middle of the streets. Gang graffiti is everywhere. Unlicensed pushcart vendors selling tacos, popcorn, fruit and vegetables can be found up and down Lawrence Avenue. The Chicago Public Schools in the area are filled with non-English speakers. It is fast becoming a Third World slum.

If a guy didn’t have guns and ammo, seeing that individual anywhere nearby would absolutely force you to go buy them.
