To be fair “warriors” can be attributed to any warrior.

“Tribes” can be attributed to any tribe.

And “savages” can be attributed to muslims.

“Raiders” could just as easily evoke images of Vikings, known for carrying out raids.

Can I ask why this article repeatedly uses the term Native Americans rather than American Indians?

Are we not supposed to say American Indians anymore?

I am a native American by the fact that I was born here. I am not a descendent of an Indian tribe however. I think the term native American only serves to confuse the issues.

Yep. Marquette University dumped “Warriors”, even though the term is not specific to Native Americans.

Eastern Michigan was forced to dump “Hurons” but Central Michigan is still the “Chippewas”. Go figure!
