Unless the threat is imminent I don't chamber the round. Walking down the street yes. In a class room, no.

It does not take long to slide it back.

But I agree he's not very bright.

“don’t chamber the round”

Israel and I are are usually in Defcon 1 in public, but I/we agree with you, if there is any truth to “Israeli carry”.

The thought of some of the Yahoo’s rubbing shoulders in public, and carrying ‘cocked-and-locked’ 1911s and Glocks, (which are ‘half-cocked’ with a round chambered) gives me the willies.

I’m sure ‘Professor Corey’ here also assured his nervous wife, “Pish posh, dear. I’ve been carrying a round chambered (and no safety?) with absolutely no problems .... “.

OK, by this time all the part-time pistoleros and BR mirror gunslingers are itching to slap leather and argue that the fraction of a second they save in making their smoke-wagon bark could mean the difference between lying face down on Dodge’s dusty High Street with the gloating Dalton gang standing over them.

Hey, whatever their origin, bullets hurt. For you Johnny Ring is, at least consider getting a DA/SA: like Sig or CZ, rather than going around with only 5.5 pounds of trigger pressure standing between your trigger and femoral artery. Or more importantly, mine.
