If I called the Dept. of Ag. in Michigan or Illinois, I’d be overjoyed if I only had to hold for twenty minutes.

I actually did once call my state department of weights and measures and it was about a gas pump issue. They told me that they only had a very small number of inspectors to cover the entire state. Even if the author lives in their state capital, this story is not believable.

Yup. It was at this point I called "BS".

No doubt there's some crooked gas station owners (my wife got her CC# stolen at one, right around the corner from our house). But this article doesn't pass the sniff test, either.
