He talked a good populist game just long enough to get himself over the hump. Then he turned and used the fact that “I’m all that stands between you and the pitchforks” to extort beaucoup billions from Wall Street.

Which tells me that this country is a sitting duck for any devious populist who comes along spouting the right rhetoric.

I was furious with working-class people who fell for the lies obama was spewing in 08. The worst ones were the people who thought that electing a black president would outweigh any damage he does. After all, how much damage can he do in four years? I still feel like slapping every one of these people when I see them.
