I guess that is one plus/minus of having dual units. You may only have to replace one, but then the health of the companion unit is just hanging out there.
We went through a period a couple years ago where we did washer/dryer/stove in a couple months. Then last year we completed the set with a new fridge.
This year a new window AC for the living room.
Furnace still good, just needs new glow plugs on occasion.
Mulling over the 3 quotes we have now. I don’t want to go with the company who did our downstairs unit and who we have used for the past 20 yrs. Their customer service this time around has been atrocious. One of the guys who came out knows the owner and said it’s not just us being neglected. He’s done work for some of his big clients who he had for years as well. One guy said we need all new ductwork, that it wasn’t done correctly when they built this house and his price was way more than anyone else’s. So he’s out.
